 The TWAD Board’s State Level Water Testing Laboratory at No. 31, Kamarajar Salai, Chepauk, Chennai-600 005 has received ISO 9001: 2008 certification for “Testing of Physical, Chemical & Bacteriological Parameters for Water & Waste Water, Testing of Treatment Chemicals and Training in Water Analysis”.
The certificate has been issued by Standardisation Testing & Quality Certification Directorate (STQC), Ministry of Information Technology, Govt. of India. This laboratory is the first and only Govt. Water Testing Laboratory in India having ISO 9001: 2008 certification. This laboratory is focusing on continual improvement aiming for better Customer service and satisfaction.
As per Quality Policy for the Laboratory, ‘ supply of safe and potable water to the public is ensured by quality laboratory service’. As per the Quality Objectives, the laboratory aims to attain leadership position in Laboratory services and this laboratory has been now recognized as the ‘Referral laboratory’ for Tamil Nadu State by Government of India. The services of the laboratory can be availed by the Public and also the needy Industries and other organizations.
